DFWC and TFWA launch position paper: Tackling illicit trade, counterfeiting & intellectual property theft
The Duty Free World Council (DFWC), the global voice for the duty free and travel retail industry, and Tax Free World Association (TFWA), the association that brings together 520 supplier companies to the duty free and travel retail industry, have released a position paper on tackling illicit trade, counterfeiting, and intellectual property theft.
It sets out five key recommendations, and calls on national governments and cross-border enforcement agencies to work with industry to put an end to the practice.

Economic Impact of Duty Free and Travel Retail in Asia Pacific
A 201 report by the Duty Free World Council and Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association on the economic impact of duty free and travel retail in the Asia Pacific region. The report found that in 2017 an estimated US$36.2 billion was spent on duty free and travel retail in the Asia Pacific region. Airports and airlines accounted for nearly US$21.2 billion in duty free and travel retail sales, and duty free and travel retail spending in APAC accounted for an estimated 140,900 direct jobs and US$7.5 billion in direct GDP.
