DFWC and TFWA launch position paper: Tackling illicit trade, counterfeiting & intellectual property theft
The Duty Free World Council (DFWC), the global voice for the duty free and travel retail industry, and Tax Free World Association (TFWA), the association that brings together 520 supplier companies to the duty free and travel retail industry, have released a position paper on tackling illicit trade, counterfeiting, and intellectual property theft.
It sets out five key recommendations, and calls on national governments and cross-border enforcement agencies to work with industry to put an end to the practice.

OECD – Global Trade in Fakes: A Worrying Threat
A study published by the OECD, presenting an updated quantitative analysis of the value, scope and magnitude of world trade in counterfeit and pirated products. Based on data for 2019, it estimates that the volume of international trade in counterfeit and pirated products amounted to as much as USD 464 billion in that year, or 2.5% of world trade.
