Director General of TFWA John Rimmer speaks at ETRC Annual Business Forum

Today saw the return of the European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) Annual Business Forum for the first time in person since January 2020.

The one day conference brought over 150 people from across the duty-free and travel retail industry, with a full day of insights.

Representing Duty Free: Trusted, Transparent, Secure, John Rimmer, Director General of TFWA (Tax Free World Association), joined the afternoon ETRC Policy Roundtable to discuss the regulatory and legislative issues set to define travel retail in 2023.

John said:

“Unless we are proactive in combatting illicit trade, it will result in very severe problems for the industry.

“Customers shop with us because they know they can trust the authenticity, traceability, and genuineness of our products, and every dollar lost to illicit trade is a dollar that could be earned by law abiding businesses like ours.
